September 26, 2013- Reflective Blog
This week in Econ we focused a little on weserville but mostly on our health care reform papers. Our health care papers had to be 3-5 pages and it needed to describe Obama care and give our opinion (not our parents opinions). On Monday we worked on our papers in class. On Tuesday we took another one of Mrs wesers famous surprise quizzes that everyone seems to enjoy!! After that Mrs. Weser gave us a choice to either work on our papers or do another lesson and we all chose to work on our papers. I finished my paper on Tuesday night. On Wednesday we took notes on the government and taxes we also discussed the different types of taxes. Mrs weser split us into groups to choose if the govt should tax the rich more and the poor less or to tax everyone the same percent. I think that everyone should be taxed the same percent. This way it is fair to everyone.

I am torn between taxing the rich and poor equally and taxing the rich more. If they are both taxed equally, it seems to me like it would work out because it is would be equal. If the rich are taxed more, it would not be a significant amount more. They have more money to spare than the poor. I think it is all quite confusing.
ReplyDeleteI think that the government should use a progressive tax system where they tax people with higher incomes a higher percentage that way the poor have more money to rise in society and the rich can afford to pay the higher taxes so it works out for everyone all around.
